About making pictures   - Elmar 9cm f4   by  Waeshael

Elmar 90 at f5.6

The lens is very useful as it focusses down to about 3 feet, so close up pictures are possible. Colors are good. The lens is a little soft (low contrast) but the NEX-5 adjustments compensate for this.

The lens is very small considering it has the FOV of a 135mm lens. These lenses can be bought for $100 or so, which is a ridiculously low price for such a good Leica lens. It is a screw mount and requires an adapter to M. Shown here also is the Novoflex adapter for M to E mount (black.) The Company Novoflex have been making Leica gear since the 50s, and all its products are high quality to Leica standards.

The mast was 300 feet away and the top was 50 feet up from the camera. The vertical antenna is less than 1/4 inch in diameter and the fine brush hairs on the lighting rod are about 1/16 of an inch.

Elmar 90 at f5.6 - lower image is at 100%.  The image is very true to life.
